ALC Home Health’s School Nursing Program

Our program is built on more than 20 years of clinical excellence and over five years of dedicated service within Miami‑Dade County Public Schools and Charter Schools, delivering both Comprehensive School Nursing and highly specialized care for Medically Fragile Children. Our nurses are trained to support students with complex medical needs—including respiratory support, seizure management, mobility assistance, and continuous glucose monitoring—while ensuring they can safely participate in the school day. Families consistently affirm the quality of our care: parent satisfaction surveys rate our services as “Excellent” or “Exceeds Expectations” every single year, reflecting the trust our community places in our team.

ALC’s School Nursing team takes tremendous pride in delivering care that families can trust, and the results speak for themselves. Year after year, 98% of parents rate our services as Superior or Excellent across every major category, including clinical care, organization, communication, and timely problem resolution. This level of feedback reflects the professionalism, compassion, and consistency our nurses bring to every student they support. It also reinforces our belief that high‑quality school nursing is built on strong relationships with families, clear communication, and an unwavering commitment to each child’s safety and success.  We have enjoyed the privilege of partnering with very large school districts as well as charter school programs.  We provide nursing before school, during school, at afterschool events, field trips and summer school programs.

ALC’s School Nursing Team, Leading the way in Expanding Nursing Education.

ALC Home Health’s partnership with Florida International University through the 305 Nursing Initiative represents a forward‑thinking collaboration designed to strengthen the pipeline of nurses trained to care for children in both school and home settings. Together, ALC and FIU have created hands‑on learning opportunities that expose nursing students to the unique clinical, developmental, and social‑emotional needs of pediatric and medically fragile populations. The initiative expands educational pathways by integrating real‑world school‑based nursing experience with FIU’s academic excellence, ensuring graduates are better prepared for community‑based pediatric care. ALC’s two decades of service and its leadership in school nursing provide students with a high‑quality training environment rooted in compassion, cultural awareness, and clinical rigor. This partnership not only enhances workforce readiness but also elevates the standard of care available to children across Miami‑Dade County.  Click here to learn more.
